Exhibition information:

The triennial Art Trails | Vias d’art Pontresina is one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in public spaces in the Canton of Graubünden. In 2023, the new project moved into the landscape of the Bernina region. 16 artists, accomplished representatives of installation art from all of Switzerland’s language regions, have been invited by the organizer, Pontresina Cultura, to set up their works on locations in public space. The theme “Rethink Destinations” ostensibly addresses the concept of destination, while inviting the audience to rethink the idea of travel or destination. The works invite the audience to stop, reflect and consider – to pause a while – in a nutshell, to “Rethink Destinations”.

Art Trails | Vias d’Art 2023 can be found along the Rhaetian Railway UNESCO World Heritage route. The installations can be seen at 11 railway stations from Punt Muragl to Cavaglia. In Pontresina, the focal point of the exhibition, a further 14 works can be visited. “Rethink Destinations” Art Trail shows works by 20 Swiss artists at a total of 32 different locations.
