I'm rehearsing to fail / homage to Peter Trachsel

Language navigation

Exhibition information:

The starting point of the project is the sentence "I'm rehearsing to fail" by Peter Trachsel. It keeps the memory of this extraordinary artist, who made Prättigau the scene of many important art events for over thirty years, alive and makes it blossom.

The first step in the participatory development process was a Switzerland-wide call; around fifty people registered to take part in the project. They all received marigold seeds from Hanga Séra. For two months they let the seedlings grow in their gardens, on their balconies, in their living rooms in various parts of Switzerland, in order to come to Küblis at the end of June 2024 and plant the medicinal flowers together as part of a large seedling festival. The marigolds and yarrows form the sentence "I'm rehearsing to fail".

The 1.5 meter high letters at the intersection of Luzeinerstrasse and Untere Dalvazzastrasse bloom in summer and wither in autumn. The transience of the sentence reflects our own transience. The ephemeral nature of the project leaves room for change, which also leaves open the possibility of failure.
